AW13 shoe edit

Aw13 Shoes

I have been making some solid fashion investments lately. By that, I mean that I have been spending far too much money on my wardrobe and have been trying to find every justification under the sun to make myself feel better about my pretty collection of shoes and pretty sad looking bank account. I've never been much of a shoe person, but lately the releases have been just too good to pass up. Wittner were having an amazing discount sale - not sure if it's still going but go check it out - which was a buy one get the second pair 50% off. I'm a sucker for leopard print so the heels were a no brainer, I love the print and the chunky heel combined with the pointed toe is a winner in my books. I was a bit hesitant about the white flats as I'm only 5'5", so sometimes the extra length in pointy flats make me look like I have clown feet but I LOVE them, especially with the crocodile skin finish.
The second purchase was the wedge sneakers from Windsor Smith. I adore the Isabel Marant ones but despite them being out of my price range, I was struggling to find the  black colour way ANYWHERE. These WS ones are definitely the closest match I could find to the originals and they are super comfortable - can see myself wearing these with everything in winter.
Lastly, my fashion choices of late have been heavily inspired by one half of the amazing They All Hate Us duo Elle Ferguson - i've never seen anyone rock a pair of boots & shorts like she does, and so I 'invested' in a pair of Jeffrey Campbell Everly boots - and I think they are my favourite pair out of the lot. So comfy, look amazing with shorts AND pants, and they definitely add that little bit of oomph to a basic, everyday outfit.

grammy awards 2013

google images

The most unexpected yet wonderful shock from the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.. rihanna taking out the best dressed award. This look could not be more spot on if it wanted to be.. the red gown with sheer accents, the red lip and bronzed eyes, the cascading waves and the beautiful train. Whilst I just can't fathom the decisions she's been making in her personal life, THIS, is the definition of classic.

the new face

sassiamblog

Introducing the divine Isabelle Cornish as the face of Tony Bianco's Autumn/Winter collection! The nation fell in love with her on Puberty Blues and it's so great to see her making leaps and bounds since then. The younger of the Cornish sisters (yep Abbie is her big sister) epitomises the Tony Bianco aesthetic perfectly, making it clear that she'd take flats or boots over a pair of heels anyday. The campaign boasts quite the perfect collection of boots and I can't wait to get my hands on the 2nd last pair with the cut outs. Check out the Tony Bianco instagram for heaps more campaign sneak peeks!

wedding fever

I've always been a sucker for weddings. The concept of eternal love, the excitement of the lead-up, the debacle of the big day, the peaceful nature of the 'firsts' between husband and wife... all the gooeyness tends to make me blissfully happy. I happened to attend my parents wedding (I was born in December, they got married the following October), one of my favourite movies is and always will be The Wedding Planner and I've been a flower girls more times than I can count, therefore I feel that you can't blame me for my obsession with all that is a wedding. As I've grown older, I've encountered my perfect wedding gowns, locations, flowers and so forth, but nothing - NOTHING - topped the day that I stumbled across the first pictures of Rebecca Judd in her wedding gown. She was flawless, elegant and provided me with my first proper introduction to the J'Aton boys; heart = serious flutter! So when she began her blog just a month or two ago, I was over the moon to see that she had a section dedicated to weddings. If you're a wedding fanatic like me you have to go check it out, you'll love it. You'll stare and stare and stare. Her wedding was perfection because of her ridiculous eye for detailing - all the essential factors were spot on. Whilst out at lunch with my girlfriends the other day, it struck us that the next big parties in our lives will be the weddings within our group. Weddings and 30th's - how crazy is that? So I figure it really isn't that unreasonable for me to be finalising the details of my wedding now. It'll be comforting to know that I have everything sorted, right down to the Lady Peep Strass Louboutins on my french manicured toes (too much?)
