fresh buys.

i've been doing a bit of online shopping lately and i've actually been quite proud of the purchases i've made.
i'm trying to focus on buying investment pieces - stuff that i know i'm going to wear for awhile and that goes with everything, so i can spend a bit more on them and splurge a little on some good quality clothing. anyway, thought i'd share some of them with youuuuu..

GRAB leather mini skirt:
This little baby was on ebay and it's exactly what i've been looking for. It's real leather and ended up being $40. My perfect little bargain for summer & winter.

Tony Bianco booties:
These are on pre-order. They were on the pricey side for my budget but they're too incredible to pass off... i'm a sucker for suede, and i'll admit, they're pretty versatile.

Rezrekshn faux fur vest:
Rezrekshn sells a lot through victoria's secret, and this vest was on sale for $69. Fur is going to be one of the biggest trends this winter so it had to be purchased in preparation for the cold!
If i'm going to have to suffer in the cold, at least i'll be warm and cosy in it.

Sportsgirl leggings:
I hate leggings worn as pants as much the next style conscious member of society, and so please do these gorgeous statement leggings a favour and wear them with a dress. Or an oversized tee. Or something which covers your ass. Because these are too pretty to be messed around with. The cut outs are well designed and it looks great with an oversized jumper.

Sportsgirl shirt:
Last, but certainly not least, is this white shirt. It's cotton, and designed to be a little crinkled, but since I have gotten it I haven't stopped wearing it. It literally goes with everything. My new favourite outfit: pairing it with my leather mini and black suede wedges.
And yes, I may have also bought it in nude and khaki colourways.
It just couldn't be helped.

bargainhunter.

If you have even the tiniest scrimmage of intelligence, you will do as I say and go to your local newsagent/supermarket/convenience store right now and buy the Feb edition of Shop Til You Drop. It's their everything under $100 issue, and this purchase will start you off perfectly.

And the cover is Erin Wasson. Yum.

the cool breeze.

I know you don't want to think about winter - it feels like we haven't even had summer yet -
but here's my three predictions on what you NEED in your wardrobe this coming season.

1. Over the knee boots aren't going anywhere! Whether heeled or flats, you need a black suede pair to tie you over. Trust me, you'll wear them to death. I've already got a flat pair, and am about to invest in a heeled pair - check out victoria's secret for some amazing bargains.

2. Fur vests & jackets are coming back in a big way. Personally, I love the vest best, layered over a long sleeve black dress and ankle boots. Just make sure you go faux... get your morals straight.

3. Leather everything is going to be around this season, and while there's some great jackets out there, I personally love the mini skirt. It can be dressed up or down and pretty much looks great with anything. Definitely worth the investment.

new new new!

I love when a season changes, and designers start releasing their lookbooks and pre-order opportunities start to appear.
My favourite pieces from papa-sucre, sass & bide's newest collection.

speaking of which...

Okay so coincidentally, Shakuhachi have just released their Pre-Fall 2011 Lookbook and it's blown my mind. Yum. If I don't get that black draped jacket, I don't know how I'll go on living.

prospects.

I just applied for an internship with Shakuhachi and I can't even explain how nervous this makes me. I want this so bad. It would be a dream come true to work with Jessie White, founder and designer of Shakuhachi - she shared my love of art and fashion, and wanted to put her own unique twist on clothing to create art. Whilst my passion may not be to put a unique twist on the actual creation of clothing, I want to enter the fashion industry to style, organise and be a part of the hustle and bustle. The thought of working backstage at a fashion show, of styling a model at a shoot, of castings and accessorising and making everything perfect... it's my heaven.

And if I get this internship, and I get to blog about it, well that is simply a dream come true.
